For you 180s that are interested, the jetta/golf fmic kits fit, and rather well.

Only disappointment with the one i got was it came with this subpar tube and fin core that i wasnt expecting. Was pretty sure it was suppose to be a decent bar and plate.

As far as fitment, i didnt have to trim or cut ANYTHING. It fits behind the crash bar with ease and high enough to clear the front bumper. Also the bends clear the side vents with them still in (sorry, no pic yet) unlike on the vw's. However, it is a little to tall to fit under the strut bar so you will either have to pull it or cut off about a 1/2" to fit under it. Also, if you have a ATC motor, your crankcase regulator and dv are swapped and they dont line up like they will with a AWP, so a bov helps (mines no staying like that). It also uses the stock TB hose, so you may want to upgrade that if you want to have increased flow on the cold side.

I do however plan to upgrade the core sooner than later with either a very large treadstone core or a pte600hp core. Current core is 20x9x2.75" (overall is 28" long) with 2.75" inlet/outlet.

Now some of you are wondering why i did this. Well, my awic setup was intended to use the stock piping and i just replaced the TB hose. However, my coupler that connects to the pancake pipe behind the motor was chewed up and keeped poping off. So basically i got sick of having to jack it up on the side of the road and fixing it. Pic below for visual

no lip = no holding 17psi

Kind of disappointed that i had to ditch my setup (stevemann on vortex isnt LOL) But 4ply couplers and tbolts make for a more reliable setup when its compared to 10yr old couplers and worm clamps

So no more a/w set-up or sale potential?

Not as of now. Im back in cincy and busy with my new job, this site and another site im putting together for work. If anyone wanted to know how to put there own together, id be happy to help. Its really simple once you make the mounting plate. I still have 2 larger cores sitting in the garage i could use (or sell) if i wanted to swap to a smaller battery and put it there and have 3' of piping with a DS intake man

I did it by myself, so it took some time to get them all lined up and tightened down. Also since for some reason i dont have a 10mm deep socket, i think i spent another 20 mins just using an open ended wrench to tighten the tbolts. Overall i think i spent about 4 hours doing everything. It doesnt come with a support for the core, so i broke off the one for the pipe going down next to the battery and used it to help support the core. Also, you can see the battery is missing, i removed that just so i had a better access point to the coupler behind the fan.

I'd be interested in seeing the a/w set-up (and mounting plate :)), and also how it would be affected by my driver-side TB. I'd like to move my battery/battery box from the engine bay sometime this year, so that space will be available in the future...thanks for any info. I need some good auto pr0n ;)

Not mine, obviously, but it would just be mounted over top of a small 15lb battery

lol i didnt know that was a pic of the inside of ur IC you posted on af cincy. I wish someone made a kit like that for the 225 on ebay im going to be fabricating my own charge pipes. Is that a 2.5" in/out ic with reducers for 2.25 pipes? Do you have a picture of the lower pipes on with the bumper off? There is a sensor or something in the oe pipe did the ebay kit come with a bung for it?

the sensor on your stock pipe is the map sensor the ebay kit i got did not have one but any welding shop can make one for you i think they wanted 25$ to do one on mine

one guy made some nice bends by filling a sock with sand to keep from crushing the pipe i cant insert links from my phone but if you search on af it should pop up.

piping is 2" to core, 2.5" to TB with 2.75" inlet/outlets.

My pipes moved a little since i last test fitted the bumper so i need to go back and rearrange the pipes. The bumper barely fits with grills removed and alien mounts trimmed on the passenger side. Should be fine with some more adjusting.

on my side grills i removed the plastic piece on the back to make all the mesh holes open and to get it to fit with the pipes.

Im hoping i dont have to remove those if possible. I would like to have that airflow blocked for the best mpg and aerodynamics. I just go back from Chi, so i should have some time tomarrow to refit the pipes

This thread just made me very happy Cincy! (as long as a MKIV FMIC kit will fit my 180 Quattro just as easily) I've been trying to figure out what I was gonna do for a FMIC when I build my motor this spring and now I'm hoping I can pick out one of the nicer MKIV kits. I'd love to go with Eurojet like I did on both of my MKIVs but I don't think there core will work with our cars... I wonder if I can just buy their 2.5" piping then snag a nice 600hp core elsewhere... hmm the possibilities :)

Im going to try to get the pipes to fit better tomarrow since i was trying to rush before i went to chicago on monday. The crash bar on the TT is so much nicer since you wont have to cut or replace it to fit a pte600 core. Exttreme got a pte750 to fit by just pushing the bar out farther by widening the bolt holes
