So I am looking at doing V Maxx coilovers in the spring. I haven't found a lot of concrete info on them. My main question is whether or not I can raise them back to stock height when winter rolls around so I am not plowing snow. If they can be raised, how hard is the process? Is it simply lifting the car and using the wrench to raise/lower the height?

Also, if I am going for minimal drop, say prolly 1.5 at the absolute maximum, can I get away with 1/2 KMAC kit?

You can lower/raise coilovers as you please...just jack up the car remove the wheels and adjust. For 1.5" you will need a full kmac.

The levels of drop is on the www.stratmosphere.com Will have the min and max drop of the fronts and rears. Keep in mind the rears will go lower if you pull the perches

A buddy of mine has a set of VMAXX coils on his TT 225 and I won't lie, it rides like absolute sh*t... It is incredibly bouncy and very harsh over bumps. It felt like the car had no shock absorbers at all. Now, he has the thing slammed on its nuts which I'm sure attributes to the rough ride, but after riding in his car I would never consider those coils no matter how cheap they are. Oh and with a drop of 2 or more inches he has the full KMAC kit on his and his alignment was in spec.

Haha, true that.

And yeah, I guess it wasn't all that bad... just way to harsh for my tastes.

Thanks guys. So, if I was after a subtle drop like 1 in., would the full kit be overkill? Idont want it slammed, just a bit lower. I had. Just over an inch drop on my DSM and was completely happy

If you go for a 1-1.5 inch drop and use a half KMAC kit you'll be more than satisfied. I'd even be willing to bet the ride won't be too awful if you keep it at a reasonable level.

Vmaxx on Mk4s (using as similar comparison) is notorious for riding like ASS when it's slammed. They literally ride on the bumpstops...i.e. no shock travel. Some people trim the bumpstop to help it, but I can't see that being good for the shocks.

I'm hoping the vmaxxs sitting in my garage will ride decently with a modest drop. I don't see any reason for them to be particularly bad unless I slam the crap out of my car.

I have a set of PSS 9's and they are great. I really enjoy the feel of the ride even here in Korea and trust me the roads are garbage. They believe heavily in speed bumbs every 50 ft. Even with this they feel great over the bumbs and smooth on the highway. Also they give a bit of play in the ride height and dampening. I cant speak for the Vmaxx. Sorry I couldnt be more help. "you get what you pay for" kind of a rule of thumb and normally holds true.....

Well a stock tt doesn't ride like a A8 either. I'm hope'n this spring I'll get some v-maxx's!!! Don't really plan on dropping it past 1.5". Unless there's a car show then the pavement will tickle its belly!!!
