I see people breakin their necks all the time. I try to act like I don't notice. Don't wana come off as a dick. I get a lot of thumbs up and head nods. I'm a lip reader also, so it's pretty interesting the shit people say. A lot of peope say stuff like "fuckin punk"lol(jealous haters). I had another asshole suggest that my car is way expensive. I said "no dude, it's a $20k car..? Maybe your not used to seeing people take care of their shit"

yeah it's pretty funny when people say to me that i spent a butt load of money on my car, or that my "job must pay well", or my parents bought me my car.
I just humor them and shrug and say "it's my baby".
and yeah, i used to be the dreaded awdi guy like 5 years ago, then i realized it's an owtie.

this fat jealous chic at my job kept this rumor going for years that it was my mom's car! I hated that beetch.
I often have to correct ppl as well...I had one guy think it was BMW, but I had the angel eyes so i gave him a pass
what i find funny is that almost no one knows that there are two version. I talked to this one guy at my gym who raced a TT in his 350. He said he thought they were faster until he raced one. I explained to him there are two different (now 3) engines and it's possible he was racing the lowest one. everyone thinks they are all the same

I useta have the same problem with my '93 Opel Calibra-Turbo, back in GChurr-munnie. There were three versions. Th 85ps Suck-retaries car (1.8L/FWD/ 4-banger/5-sp). The 115ps Wanna-beeees (3.0L/FWD V-6/5-sp). And what *I* had, 205ps (2.0L-Turbo/AWD/6-sp). Had it de-badged so, the ONLY way you'd know, KNOW, was to peek inside (when it was parked) at the 4x4 emblem in the center of the steering wheel, or the gear-shift w/duble-H pattern. My favorite two pastimes were 1) Chasing BM-Vu's outta the fast lane (I topped @ about 175mph-ish), and leaving late for work. 215 horses don't sound like a lot but, consider this was a decade ago, and it dint waigh much more than the TT did. Speakin of which, this was before the TT was available in the US market, and those cars still had a bad habit of lifting the rear-end, at speed, on the A-bahn.

^ well, you're not American, lol...I used to OWN UP in Gran Turismo with the Calibra DTM, I loved that damn thing.
I just started my new job and I've had a lot of my coworkers tell me "nice car" or the like, and its so nice that people are actually cool; during student teaching I got several snide/backhanded comments from teachers about my car. I'm thinking to myself, seriously, who told you to have kids at 22 and buy nothing but minivans? Sorry, my TT wasn't a $50k car, and I have no interest in driving a boring commuter-mobile, stop making comments (everyone who said something was 40 or older, kinda lame, get over it)

LoL-out loud! I was an American LONG BEFORE you were!

Yeah! It was awesome there, too! I useta RILL-ee hate when Americans would see it and say, "Nice Barretta." Gran T introduced a LOT of you youngsters to a LOT of cars I drooled over long before you could dress yourself.

We ain't ALL bad. It's usually just the thought that, tryin to squeeze a 40-something body into a sports coupe makes 'em cringe inside, is all. Go easy on old people... You'll be one, someday, if you're lucky.

lol, ok, no offense intended at all...I plan on living to 100! Are you in Europe because of job, military, lady? Whatever, I'm jealous, I'm sick of staring at rednecks and corn and I need to see some of the stuff that I've studied in history classes for the last 6 years...

I had this older dude (maybe 40's) in an SUV come up to me at the gas station last night, "like your wheels" ...and I thought he was actually talking about the wheels, but he was talkin about the whole car...When i left, no more than two red lights away, another older dude in an SUV gives me a:thumbup1: It's nice to know when you're doing things right
I'm sick of staring at rednecks and corn
LOL there are plenty of both of those in Illinois!

Not IN Europe, anymore. In the Metro D.C. area. Been here for almost 10 years, now. Lived in Europe (Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and a few other places) for, like, 16 years, at the behest of our favorite uncle (Sam). Best vacation I EVAH had! Longest, too!!! It was ALSO the BEST education I ever had.
Wanna know the difference between an American and a European? American think 100 years is a long time, and Europeans think 100 miles is a long distance.

Like most who have served, I think it should be mandatory, PRE-kolledge, for ALL you snot-nosed young whipper-snappers to serve. Unlike most, I also think serving in the Peace-Corps carries just as much weight as service in the Marine Corps, or any other branch of the Military or Coast Guard.
