In retrospect I probably would have gotten better times if I'd let 2nd gear redline instead of shifting at 5500 like I always do.
Car is a 2000 TT FWD with an AWP motor and six speed 02M swapped in. Has a chip, DV and open element filter. Running stock six spoke rims with all seasons. No weight reduction either.
Vids were without any kind of aggressive launch...I just held it between 1500-2000 and eased off the clutch. First run was taken with a load of stuff in the back including a small air compressor lol.
Run 1:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHbiUBsK3xw&feature=channel_page
When you go frame by frame in quicktime, car starts moving at about 2.5s and gets to sixty right at 9s = about 6.5s 0-60.
Run 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIBNOd__HNU&feature=channel_page
Frame by frame shows the car starting right at 2s and finishing at 8.34s (used movie maker).
I think ~6.5s 0-60 for a barely modded car without launching isn't bad.

LOL I tied the strap on the camera to the wheel and stuck it down with a little contact tape...it sits right above where your right hand grips the wheel. Very improvised camera mount lol

Really made that much difference? What weight did you get? I don't want to go <14lbs for fear of chatter.

I will sum the lightened flywheel up this way:
It feels as if you are actually driving a car with throttle by cable. Lots of throttle response. and obviously is more rev happy as well... Kind of go hand in hand.
EDIT: went with Fidanza 10lbs.(exact same thing as the ECStuning one exept like half the price) with a factory clutch disc and pressure plate (was not planning on making chipped levels of power). No chatter what so ever. Smooth engagment and easy to drive with. and the part that really sold me with this flywheel was the fact that when I have to do another clutch job all I have to do is replace the $50 surface.

Nice, I'll probably stick with the ECS kit as it's the most cost effective option.

LOL@ this comment. ECS kit is no where near cost effective IMO.
There Flywheel is almost $700! I PAID $290 TO MY DOOR for the same exact thing it just does not have ECS's name on it. There are other ways to be cost effective. ECS tuning is NOT always one of them. Not including the shipping they charge you. I have order $3000+ worth of stuff from ECS. Love there parts quantity and everything but they are like the diff. between Craftsman and Snap-on!

DAMMIT I forgot I don't have an 02J anymore. Their 02J Stage 1 clutch with a 14lbs flywheel is $330. They don't have jack for the 02M though.
Looks like I'll be taking your advice lol.

So does anyone have a recommendation for an upgraded 02M clutch disc for K04 ish power levels? Also 225TTR, where did you pick up that flywheel?

Got if off ebay... Might want to see if you can contact the seller and see if he can get more. shozone I think his name was. It was like $290 shipped to my door.
For K04 power levels (un-chipped) I would not go too extreme. I have factory Clutch and pressure plate and with the lightened flywheel I have no chatter and I have very factory like driveability, with the added throttle response and free revness.
If I would have thought I was going to chip it I would have gone with a south bend clutch/PSI plate. But just for a kit like that you are looking at a minimum of $650. Where as I aquired my setup for I think $230. (OEM LUK but the disc was not right so a buddy of mine swapped the other OEM brand disk with mine ;) can not off hand remember the name for some reason).

You wont need anything. If you want to upgrade, just get a clutchnet kevlar disc and you will be fine for well above that power level

So OEM pressure plate is fine? Looks like a pretty good solution being $225:

They say you have to use an Autotech/Clutchnet/FST flywheel...are they just trying to say you can't use it with the OEM dual mass? The flywheels on there are $375+ I'm thinking I could find the Fidanza 225QR bought for less than that.

"It interchanges with the stock disc and can be used with any of ClutchNet pressure plates. "
Lavi@uni aka my05gli "I just installed the Clutchnet 6-puck, OEM Fly and PP... no issues.... drag race and beat the isht out if for two years now... and it only cost me back then 127$ for the disc"

Damn not bad. Looks like it won't be as expensive as I thought when the time comes.
