So I get off work tonight and as I'm walking to my car(I always park in the same spot), I see a piece of paper under my wiper and I'm thinking damn mall security left me a BS ticket, but it turned out to be this note which is kinda funny

(VDUBBIN is my custom plate)

I work at A&F in the mall so I guess it must be another mall employee or someone who comes to the mall a lot.

either that or hes on the CL where vw/rusted hoods go hand in hand as far as the worst thing you can do to your car. me personally...i dont like the look except on one BMW 2002, that was black, slammed and had a roofrack on it, that car still looked clean w/ the rusted hood.

LOL that someone took the time to leave you a note saying they liked your old wheels better then changing his mind.
BTW I like the new ones better =]

^you have a 350z?! What ya got done on that?!

Nope, I had a 300ZX, a 2+2 model converted to twin turbo with a shitload of mods. Two-tone interior (black and gray leather), full system, fully built (and I mean fully) suspension, completely adjustable and completely adjusted (the only thing I didn't do was corner-weight the car), and what's considered a Stage VI buildup (dual air intakes, ECU, testpipes, split-flange downpipes, catback exhaust, LWFW, upgraded clutch, full hardpipe kit for the ICs, UD crank pulley, GReddy PRofec-B boost controller, RC 555cc injectors, Apex'i S-AFC, gasket-matched upper and lower intake manifolds, and a BC setting of ~17psi. I kept the 4.08 rear gears of the NA setup (the OEM twin turbo used 3.69 gears) and factory turbos, and it literally redefined the term "zero lag". It was a lethal street setup, and the dyno measurements around 440whp would equate to somewhere around 515hp at the flywheel. There were a ton of other things done as well (HIDs, J-spec lighting all around, 18x8 and 18x10 Volk AV3 wheels, yada yada). I'll post up a few pics of the car itself and of the engine during the build (I put about 200 hours into the engine's detailing between polishing, painting, and powdercoating). Let me upload them and get a couple things done around home and I'll put some up.

Damn guy!!! I wanna get a 240sx to mess with. That's a lot of stuff you had done to that! What happend to it!?

Yeah it was a hell of a lot. Suspension had KYB AGX adjustable struts, Intrax 1.5" drop springs, ST sway and strut bars, adjustable upper and lower front control arms, adjustable upper rear arms, and ES urethane bushings replacing every rubber bushing below the car except for the subframe mounts, which were replaced with Dupree aluminum collars. I ran 245-40ZR18 front tires and 285-30ZR18 rears. It was a monster in the turns (lol, and the straights). Here's a few pics of it.

Sitting at a plaza in town:

Intercoolers and dual air intakes (JWT TwinPOP intake setup with dummy MAS extender):

With the bumper laid in place to check for fitment:

All the silver-looking metal is actually polished (you'll see in a later pic); also, before the chrome intercooler pipes (you can see those in the above pic):

Polished manifold, PS reservoir, coil brackets, PCV breather tubes, water pipes, chromed water pump pulley/reservoir caps, painted valve covers, timing covers, misc brackets:

On its way to its new owner (I sold it because I have two toddlers and it's completely impractical - I'd hardly ever get to drive it, and any mods from this point on would've been several thousand dollars apiece (bigger turbos, internals, etc)):

And before anyone gets a wild hair and decides to go to town on polishing engine parts, be warned - it's extremely time-consuming to do properly, I spent about $240 on sandpaper, steel wool, vernier's rouge, and white polish, and it's an absolute bastard to keep clean. I'm talking two hours a week cleaning the motor to keep it looking good. It's a huge pain...but every time I got gas I'd check the oil lol - drew a crowd every time:)

Like I said before, why did you ditch this for an A4

See above post with the pics - I have two toddlers and the car was completely impractical. I had it for over 9 years and put a sickening amount of money into it (we're talking close to $40k), most of which I lost on the sale, even after parting out a lot of it. That should be taken to heart as well by potential mod lunatics - you won't get back much of what you put in. I wouldn't do it again, but I don't regret doing it because it was great fun and I loved every minute behind the wheel. But it's sobering to realize that the money I lost on the sale would've paid off my house and left a few grand afterward. But after that much time/effort/money/blood/sweat/tears/swearing, I'd had my fill of the car, and I needed to be practical. In all reality, I'd have been able to drive the car probably 20 times a year. Just not worth the expenses and hassle at that point.

Wow!!! I would have put that in a storage unit and left it there till the kids were outta the house!! There is a old guy down the street that has a white one. Factory wheels. Rather blah

You never know though - it could be a sleeper. There was a 666whp TTZ running around Dallas back in the day (I think it was built by SGP Racing) and the only indication that it wasn't stock was the aftermarket exhaust system (and with the style it had, you'd have to be a Z owner or fan to notice), plus the Mickey Thompson ET Streets on the back. Visually, other than that, it looked like a run of the mill TTZ. Until he nailed it, I'm sure... :)

+1 lol. When i finish school and buy a house i hope to have a 3 car garage so i can get another Z as a project. I miss mine

Heheh, yeah there are times that I miss the car, but I had a lot of fun for a lot of years with it. When I parked it my daughter was 2 and my son was 1 and there was no conceivable time that I'd be driving it regularly. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, the upgrades from then on were going to be very expensive, and even knowing that, there's no way I can have a toy for a car and not mod it, so I'd have been spiraling down an expensive road. Maybe later on I'll get another one. I won't go that far though - wheels, basic suspension mods, and a stage IV setup (intake, ECU, DP/TP, exhaust, for about 420hp or so). That's more than enough for a Z - it's pretty fast as-is, and with those mods it'll wipe up most cars you're likely to run across.
