did anyone watch it tonight? I caught about 15 minutes of it while i was at work... This bailout worries me a little bit. I feel like some of this stuff is going to be more of a temporary fix, and the rest of it we wont see a benefit for 10-15 years lol. Part of me wonders what would happen if we had just left it alone. We wouldn't be adding to our national debt! thats one benefit.

I guess my point was that why wouldn't they give us 5 million? When you throw out a number like $800,000,000,000 everyone thinks they deserve a piece. They have two million earmarked for new neon lights in Vegas, yes I'm serious. I guess that will simulate things because the reason I have been putting off going to Vegas is there just isn't enough neon!

Something needs to kick this economy back in gear. The thing that sucks with our system is that politicians make deals with supporters that keep them in office than actually taking care of the people they are representing. So instead of giving money to a program to give 1k people new jobs, i guess Vegas gets new lights. This is why everyone hates politicians. I just hope the new administration can actually pull us out of it sooner than later. The longer this goes, the worse it gets for everyone.

Agreed 100%. I would love to see it, just this once, if these assholes would just pass a bill without adding pork. Just one time, pass something intended for good without tacking on all the extra crap. Yes, towns need parks for kids. Yes, buildings need updating and modernizing. But we're not talking about the routine day-to-day spending bills here. This one is different in intent and spirit - just pass the fucking thing without everyone adding in ten grand here for new flip signs at the local Exxon station, and 20 grand there for new nipple tassles at the local strip club. Ideally, would that be too much to ask? Realistically it apparently is, but jesus, give us a break just ONE F-ING TIME, cut the partisan crap and campaign-donor ass-kissing, and actually accomplish something without secondary agendas.

The whole "bailout" process is bullshit! pure and simple. It didn't start with Obama, but rather with the Bush and former treasury secretary Paulson. Just like the wmd deception they used panic and threats of an economic meltdown to pass a bill that doesn't even address the real problems. That initial 700 billion, plus another 150 billion of pork, was passed under the guise of a stmulus package. But in reality it's gone to buy back bad dept from foreign investors, ie china and UAE. This isn't some conspiracy theory, it's all hidden in the fine print of that bill.

Obama's new"bailout" bill is just another wall street welfare check, and guess who's picking up the tab. I'm still baffled at how members of congress can pass a bill giving billions of dollars to the individuals who got us in this mess, with nothing more than just a pinky swear from them to put the money back in the economy. No oversight, no real provisions, no questions as to what where and how the money is being used. I'm telling you we're being lied to. Congress doesn't have our best interest in mind.

If they wanted to help us. Just let us not pay taxes this year. The gov. Is just going to give it back with the 800billion. But its also not just the US. Everyone around the world is hurting. And where is this money coming to pay for the war?? And do we really need a space program?? Yah we know. The world is round.

But people need to not be scared and get back into the stock market. Oil prices got crazy. Everyone sold all there shares. And here we are

I'm thinking the 7 day wait is to see if your good for the money or something?? Maybe? Not big in the stocks. Just know it runs the world.
