Oh wait, I'm here too LOL  I've definetly noticed less regulars on the vwvortex TT board, and have a feeling this forum has something to do with it...nah :D This forum has really taken off, and thank god, no more threads being blackholed for who knows why. The Motivator thread alone would have gotten at least 5 of us banned...

i somehow get myself in trouble in this forum every other week. I'm suprised i'm not banned yet.

I'm not internet appropriate apparently haha.
I'd be outta vortex in a day if i actually started posting there.

The other AF has gotten slow as hell.... i wonder why

As for vortex, it just some of the people there that just go on to bring down the forum itself. I spend most of my time there on the 1.8t section since its much more enjoyable. Just funny that the other big name TT guys rarely or just dont post in there.... geez i wonder why. Can only get shit on so many times before it gets old actually doing something.

^ this isnt high school and we prefer to not take it there

Apparently real knowledge isnt Appreachiated there.

I can't even get on vortex! Phone won't let me?!!

AF just sucks now. I sometimes go there to see if there's anything in the A5 section and the regional sections

well im just excited that this place has grown so well and is doesnt have those bad apples. Think the mod squad all have the same vision on how this place should be and plan to keep it there.

Murderface
02-26-2009, 11:32 PM
lol it's true, I hardly post on Vortex these days. Mods just don't give a SHIT about that place, you get people starting dumb threads and derailing discussions all the time and nobody does anything about it.

ConmanTT420

If u type Audifreak into google the form doesnt show up? seems like it should

Cincy
02-26-2009, 11:38 PM
add the S and it shows right up top with the TT BT and HP stick just below it.

As for vortex, I just cant stand when a couple people make worthless posts/threads and the mods refuse to remove it. Still have no idea how spoolin/50trim S isnt banned either

when i joined the celica forum over a year ago i as one of those people who would ask "do you think this would look good? what should i do here? will you build and design my car for me?" kinda people. especially with wheels haha.

i think i grew up a lil since then, but i still feel bad about posting dumb stuff that others don't find interesting or humorous (even if it's in the hang out section) cough cough "prove you're not gay" cough cough

Cincy

If you need people to design your car for YOU, you shouldnt be modding your car. Everyone have different opinions and those threads rearly go well.

Again, not high school

I like people's suggestions, but I don't like to base what I do off whether they will like it or not.

^ i agree.

plus or vortex people seem like they are looking to argue or rail somebody instead of helping somebody out. i just go to the 1.8T section and read about builds that have been done and post every now and then.

Well I find myself on here more and more. Feels more connected with people and less with useless adds.

Thats why all the vendors get their own section to setup sales and promote themselves. There was a time i counted and over 1/2 the first page's threads were ad threads

when i posted my engine build in the vwvortex tt thread and got pm^s that said i was spending to much money and ruining my car was my last thread there and i normally only browse it when im bored of the 1.8t section

Cincy

Since you pretty much replaced every part for something far better, yeah, i can see how you wasted money.... When people see a dyno of your car, they will eat those words.

lol yeah even the oil chain tensioner is aftermarket now but only because i broke it on accident :)

Cincy

The only thing stock in your engine is the block and pan. They can hate, im just green with envy here

Audiguy84

Well when I make my engine build tread to inspire the young chaps. I make it here and link it on the Tex. That way I advertise both my build (which I can't wait, over a year and going) and to let people know of this place.

Cincy
02-27-2009, 11:19 AM
I link to here as much as possible :w00t:

lol yeah my dyno thread will be made here and linked to them whenever the machine shop decides to work on my block instead of playing cards

Cincy

if you dont mind me asking how much was your engine block 2.0 upgrade *just the block* and did you have a second block or something? what did you do for 3 months?!?!?!

Cincy
02-27-2009, 01:46 PM
It was done to my block, but i ended up getting a different one back so i could get my car back together. Parts and machine work is about $1550 for just the bottom end.

My now ex did alot of my driving, well, we took her car and i drove

Irish*TT*
02-27-2009, 01:53 PM
da-dang did you just do the bottom end?
think ill just stick with my gt28r upgrade!!!

Cincy
02-27-2009, 02:02 PM
That was to bore, hone, clean, and paint the block. Along with the crank, pistons, rods, main and crank bearings, all the gaskets and a larger 20v NA gasket which is $75 by itself. Since i didnt have the space or tools i had to pay someone else to pull and build the motor. Just sticking with rods will cost ~$1k for all the parts and labor.

LOL no, it's insinuation as to who is responsible for half the first page being full of ads.

damn... where did you get the hell of a deal?
thats extreamly cheap
concidering parts for jsut doing rods comes out at around 700$

Cincy
02-27-2009, 05:49 PM
Crank is only $200, pistons are $575 and they come with rings. Machine work isnt that expensive, the assembly cost was

JB_WELD_YO
02-27-2009, 06:25 PM
hmm good to know
thought getting it bored out was expensive
well when the time and money comes i guess well see

im still trying to figure out if i should bore it out
or build up the head for revs
but thats in a year or so... who knows.. maybe ill have money for both

exTTreme
03-01-2009, 09:07 PM
for my 2.0 block im being charged $15 per cylinder and $50 to clean out the entire block including all the oil passages which have bits of bearings in them im doing the assembly myself so dont know how much that would cost.
