my radio is in safe mode i know that if i go to the dealer i would have to pay to get the code but is there another way to get the code without paying? i read somewhere that the code is the last 4 digits of the serial number is that true?

I dont believe it is. My car was in safe when i bought it and they went and got the code. I would ask them to do the same

Yeah I hear it's free when you take it to the dealer you got it from. Just need ID and proof of ownership.

Did you buy the car local? Or if you purchased it private, did that party buy it from a local dealership? Just give them a call, I believe it's free. If you have the radio manual, the code should be in there. Otherwise, you need to go to the dealer.

The small lot i got mine from paid something like $60 for it and that was just under 3 years ago.
