So I'm trying to figure out how far I want to go with my engine. And I figure as long as it can be a "reliable" daily driver. So the question: what's the most power you can pull off without having a car that's down often and tempermental? I would love to go stage3+ when my warranty runs out, but it has to be reliable.

Well reliable is relative term. Even a bolt on modded car will need more upkeep than a stock car...

I would stay under 400hp to stay reliable. To get to Daily Driver big turbo power will take a lot of time, money, and money. Rods, clutch, turbo, fueling, and tune all take big $$$.

A good hardware kit, tune, fueling, and clutch will make for a reliable daily. Ofcourse any time you double the power level of the car stock, you will have issues from time to time. A GT or BW turbo, uni or tapp tune, cts or pag turbo kit with proper injectors, and southbend or clutchnet clutch, you should be fine on a daily basis with a reasonable amount of boost and good gas

I would like to be just under or at 400hp.

I take it BHP. A 50trim (journal or dbb) or gt2871r would be my choice. A 3071r or S256 would be my next for more room to grow even though both the 50trim and 2871r can make 400whp if done right.

The gt and BW turbos will last longer and be more reliable, thus cost more

So are you saying your 35r isn't going to be reliable? ;)

I was joking, he had mentioned a 2871r a few posts earlier...

That was for a 400bhp goal. It give min lag and when done correctly, has produced 400whp on klecker's GTI (.63 on shearer manifold).

Im planning on just running of a 1bar set wastegate for the time being when i get my car up and running with the 35r. I need to do it soon since my stock turbo (#2) has a bad oil seal and is going through oil pretty quickly
