So I was told by a tuning shop that if I go with a 3" turbo back exhaust, I'm going to need to upgrade to "stage 2" program. Anyone tell me what they are gong to do? And what kind of difference am I going to notice, going from stock exhaust to 3" turbo back and the extra tune? My boy the welding god is getting out of jail this week, LOL I need to get him to build my exhaust before he gets in trouble again.

hahahha, ill bail ur Weld-Man out if he does mine!!! I was wondering the exact same thing. I have a revo chip right now, but im not really clear on the difference between the APR Stage 2 and just ur everyday Revo chip like mine. My little summer project was a 3' TB as well so this outta be a good helper thread for the both us!

I got the guy to do your turbo back if your down for a road trip. I'm going to bring him pictures(many)of the 42DP, and have him build from there.

I think the guys at APR would disagree with you. I called them to confirm. It's not even advertised on their website. The only place you see anything about "stage 2" is on the stage 3 page, where it says something about what program are included with the stage 3 set up.

A boost controller and vagcom cable goes a long way ;)

You don't need to go to the next tune, its a bunch of crap. All thats changed is some timing and fuel, its not a full new tune, just get Unisettings (free), an MBC and a $25 eBay cable. As for my car, my turboback gave the car more upper-RPM breathing, its feels better throughout, it sounds a lot better, and you should notice a difference. FYI, you will either need to ditch readiness or get a 2nd o2 spacer b/c you're sensor won't like the new exhaust

* I think I can use the cable that came with my liquid TT.??
* I don't know enough tuning wise to use unisettings.
* as far as the o2 spacer, I'm going to have my boy build me a replica of the 42dp(I've got lots of pictures)

* I don't know enough tuning wise to use unisettings. Its rather simple. There is a thread in the 1.8t forum. If you want help, post in there.
* as far as the o2 spacer, I'm going to have my boy build me a replica of the 42dp(I've got lots of pictures) blackforestindustry sells and angle o2 adapter thats pretty cheap

- No, you need a KKL USB/OBDII cable
- There is an awesome Unisettings outline in the 1.8T forum, its the best I've seen
- You need the spacer because you are going from two small, hyper-clean OEM cats to a single, "worse" 3" cat, so the spacer will prevent a CEL from the reading given by the 2nd o2. Or, call APR and see if they can shut off readiness (the part of your ECU's program that looks for SAI flow, Evap operation, 2nd o2 sensor voltage, etc...the crap you don't want to have to worry about ;))
Edit: Dammit cincy thats the second time you've internet cock-blocked me LOL
