since i see auditech79 here more, i'm gonna post here. so i had my car parked in my garage for 2 days and i go to drive it today and the rear end upper control arm is rubbing the quarter panel liner. i am dumbfounded. it drove fine 2 days ago. i don't understand how it's touching though. it sounds extremely loud even with the music on. i had to drive it for like 5 min earlier but it's staying parked until it gets warm enough to get fixed. anybody know why it would do that or had this problem b4?
o and i just popped the cherry in this section. very orgasmic

We are talking about the front upper control arms correct? Well look at the bushings with a flashlight, there are two possibilities here.
1. The fenderliner is loose and its resting on the upper control arms.
2. The bushing is completely shot and the control arm is flopping around like a fish hitting the fenderlinner and possibly the strut housing. How many miles are on the control arms you have?

no the rear end of the car. sorry for not making that clear. there's plenty of room for the CAs in the front. it's pretty tight in the rear but it still shouldn't rub. especially not after i park it for 2 days lol

Show a pic, you don't have an upper control arm there just a strut housing.

it's the thing that literally looks like an A. one part of it is attached to the chassis by the upper strut mount and the other is attached to the spindle. i just drove it and it seems that it'll only do it if i hit a pothole or a dip on that side of the car. if the whole rear end sinks down, it won't make the sound

I have never found a problem back there in an A4 before, i still want a pic of exactly what the problem is compared to the other side. Take a pic of both sides.

ok i finally got around to taking some pix. it doesn't look good. the passenger side spring is broken along with the driver's side. both sides have the same scrape markings but the passenger side is much sever. the passenger side's broken spring is also rubbing the strut.
here are the pix of the passenger side.

Never seen anything like that before, but having both springs broken can definately be the cause of the problem. Well at least you can buy some drop springs now ;)

Yeah, in all the wheelwells I've been in, I've never seen a spring curve like that lol. We'll get it taken care of:)
