I haven't been on AF in a long time, just logged on and looked around, the place is a mess lol. The first three threads I read in the B5 forum:

1) How much would a scrap yard pay for 2 catalytic converters
2) A guy paying $1300 for new headers for his 2.8

I dunno I still lurk there a couple times a week. I'm more than happy to hang around and figure stuff out with reasonable people that want reasonable answers to reasonable questions, but its the guys that want 500hp out of a 12v for less than $1000, or the guys that wanna know which chrome 20's to put on their "whip", or the guys that ask if they should get their parents to buy them the cat back from Borla or Neuspeed, to go with the A4 their parents bought, that make me want to cry lol.

^^^thats because alot of people that drive dubbers and audis are more concerned w/ appearance than going fast.
I think appearance is important but i would rather be fast... I cant really "afford" to do either so i just just do a little of both.

yeah, i have spent much less time on AF because i got sick of it as well. in a way, i like this small group atmosphere, i just wish we had a few more B5 guys so we can be like u guys in the TT section :)

I don't ever peruse AF. Fourtitude TT section is quite slow..that's where i grew up though. I liked that forum way better than AW. I'm sorry, but i'm one of the few ppl that were happy to see to see the format on AW go. I didn't go on there too much anyway, cause I found half the time ppl weren't even talkin about cars. And I didn't find the community to be friendly to new comers and ppl's questions.

No doubt. As for the comment about speed vs style on the car, my last car was a road-going cruise missile, and this one (30v A4) doesn't really have that potential (not to mention I use it as a daily driver with my kids), so this one is evolving more into a style car. If I upsize to an A6, it'll be a 2.7T and I'll be able to blend both.

AFreaks seems to be much more laid back, and there are almost no n00bs, and I also like Vortex because of the tech discussions that do occur. However, I really love that we don't have to worry about omnipotent mods here, and sometimes Vortex can be too big. I rarely visit AF, and don't even get me started on AW...

I was never on AW and lately have been scarce on any of the boards. I like being here helping to build this site up, and I like hitting up AF to try and steer the noobs into becoming respectable Audi owners instead of whiny dicks.
