View Full Version : WTF Should I do?

RAI has had my car for months now.

Week by week it keeps getting pushed back.

Told me it would be done the 23rd, if not the 29th at the latest.

I said OK, but I CANNOT let this go into the new year...

Called to check status... Ray tells me first week of Jan.
Call back first week, "When can I pick up my car?"
"Well, fabrication takes a long time, I don't know about this week"

I'm about ready to just go pick up my car how it sits... I mean WTF!

Car was supposed to be done for h2oi sept 28.
Funding from warranty came in that week, which was too late to get it done that week, understandable.

But since then it's been one excuse after another... all reasonable, moved shop, finding used head, etc. But 3 Months after the car was promised to me?

I think I should be A#1 Top Fucking priority by now.

I don't want to say anything bad on AF, and I hope Ray makes this right.

But as it is already I've gone from wanting to write a glowing review, thumbs up and all to not wanting to write anything. [/rant]

I'm not a nasty guy, but after all that, I would call and yell at 'em, or go there in person demanding the final date as to when this will be complete. Throw in the word "lawyer" and/or "refund" while saying all this!

Have you guys ever built a car before?

There are always delays. Murphy's law.
If you can't accept delays like this I wonder if you'll accept the maintenance and support that a car of that caliber is going to require to keep it running?

If RAI had legit reasons for delays, and by legit I mean anything that can happen to a new up and coming shop, then I see no reason to hold it against them. Especially if they do a quality job. I wouldn't want my project car rushed for any reason. 4 months IS quite a while, but think of the reward when the car is finished.

I agree with this 100%... and thats why i'm giving the benefit of the doubt and not posting anything putting Ray down. I really do think he's a good guy, and isn't trying to screw me. I just feel like I should be a much bigger priority.

He helped me out a lot with my warranty claim and getting mods worked into the price of the repair.

I just feel like he has my money and now i'm on the back burner. :(

hey man, i kinda missed the "rebuild" part haha. I was under the impression for some reason that it was just a minor fix. NOT THE CASE HERE hahahahah. Well after my change of thought, then yes, i see why there may be delays. Of course, the final outcome is what truely what matters, but then again, you are a customer i can see why you feel the way you do. Hopefully the quality of work pays off for all the time spent on it. good luck and sorry about the misconception lol

He isnt doing anything major. If you cant live w/o your car anymore, just have him throw the stock stuff back on and be done with it. But as said, fab work takes time and everything bad that can happen, will happen. As you know, i was waiting forever for my car. If you want him to finish, you need to remind him that you need to be made priority and not getting bumped for other projects since you have waited long enough

Thats what bugs me... dude seems like a stand up guy.

I've been itching to write a great review and recommendation on AF.

I'm gonna give him a call in the morning... If he tells me to pick it up this week i'll be happy.

If not I'll be checking in.

Ok, I just called him.

Just "Buttoning everything up" test drive, uni tune and finish the welds, and it should be done.

He said this week is a definite, I'm calling back tues to check in, but i'm guessing i'm heading out there thurs or fri to pick it up.

He cleared my headlights for me too... for being patient lol.
