Just lmao at a well known member on AF and AZ for his wonderful quote that i had to make it into my sig on AF :D


I deal with A4's not transverse cars which is why I am on a Audi forum not a VW forum.

Guess we TT guys are just VW's and Passats are Audi's :rolleyes:

THose are rear mounted boxer engines now. The A3 and TT both have transverse engines, the A4 have a longitude.

LOL bad assumption on my part.

But I guess the Touareg and Phaeton are Audis as well. News to me.

The Passat uses the same platform as the A4...

Anyway, I'll take my small, nimble 3200lb AWD coupe over the A4q. Both nice cars, but I don't need to be practical :D I do want an S4 wagon eventually

Yep, you're right (checked it)...I was lead to believe they were longitudinal. Whatever, its all the same company. That dude also forgot to mention Seat and Skoda, so he officially doesn't know more lol

TT's share the jetta, golf, beetle platform. A4 and passat share the same platform.

LOL yes...quick rundown:

A chassis= Golf/Jetta by generation...A1/A2/A3/A4...
B chassis= Passat/A4/S4/Some other stuff (like coupe quattro) B1/B2/B3/B4/
C chassis=A6...not sure what else
D chassis=A8/large Audi sedans

Few additions:

A = New Beetle, A3
C = Allroad
D = Phaeton

The R8 is based on the Gallardo, and these chassis are shared with Euro brands as well (Seat, Skoda)
